Puretec Warranty Statement (Post April 2025)

Puretec water filter system parts are covered for the period stated and include 1-year cover for labour where applicable, contingent upon Puretec's assessment and approval of the claim, ensuring that the issue falls within the terms of the warranty and that the system has been used appropriately. Applies only to Puretec Systems when used in conjunction with a Puretec filter cartridge.

Definitions:

Commercial Installations:

All non-residential installations including but not limited to hotels, motels, schools, hospitals, restaurants and aged care facilities.

Manufacturing Defect Warranty:

Excludes, without limitation, damage to surface finishes as a result of contact with improper materials, unsuitable or harsh cleaning products, improper cleaning, external impact or abuse and the effects of hard water.

Consumables:

Components of a water filtration system that have a limited lifespan and require regular replacement to maintain the system's effectiveness. These items' lifespans are often dependent on external factors such as water quality and environmental conditions. Including but not limited to: water filter cartridges, membranes, filter media, o-rings, tapware cartridges, gaskets, ultraviolet lamps, batteries, etc.

Pro-rata replacement:

Replacement cost adjusted based on how long the item has been in use.

Basic systems and housings:

Puretec’s budget friendly products, identifiable by the “Puretec Basic” logo and shorter warranty periods. Refer to specific product pages and user guides.

Residential installations:

Units installed in usual places of residence, where usage would be as reasonably expected for an average household.

Finishes:

Refers to any superficial coating, colouring or outermost surface of a product.

Warranty Exclusions:

Consumables are excluded from the general parts warranty. However, they are covered by the manufacturing defect warranty. This means that if a cartridge is faulty upon initial purchase or fails prematurely due to a flaw in its construction, a claim can be made. However, the lifespan of a filter cartridge is not guaranteed due to variations in water quality and usage. Factors such as sediment levels, chemical content, and the volume of water processed can significantly affect how long a cartridge remains effective. Therefore, premature clogging or exhaustion of the filter media due to these external factors is not covered.
